The difference and application of UHF tag and HF tag
UHF is ideal for users who want to read within a range of 3-5 meters. UHF technology is suitable for cargo transportation and recycling in the supply chain. But how to identify multiple items, HF is more suitable. In addition, UHF can be easily absorbed by liquids, but HF can easily penetrate liquids such as water, so HF tags have advantages over UHF tags in terms of liquids. These are objectively existing, but UHF tags and HF tags are similar in many aspects, and different tags and chips can be selected according to different needs, the function is also different, of course the price is also different, especially for single product tags In other words, the price of the label needs to be lowered.
The most basic requirement is to define where UHF has advantages and where HF has advantages. HF and UHF must be combined well, but the choice of technology is limited by the application, mainly based on the type of product. Similar products can use the same technology, but in specific cases, many similar products collect data in different ways. For example, such as the pharmaceutical industry (HF is more suitable) and the tire industry (suitable for UHF RFID) Technology) process is similar, but the technology used is different.
For the market, the best solution choice is not dual tags. However, not choosing dual tags also poses a difficult problem for RFID reader devices: Can it have the ability to support both HF and UHF frequency bands at the same time? Recently, a new technology has emerged that combines the characteristics of both magnetic (magnetic field) and electric (electric field). This technology is called short-range UHF technology. A short-range UHF card reader can read high frequencies at the same time. Two frequency bands: high frequency and ultra high frequency.
RFID card readers now combine digital elements and RF operation methods. Today's digital signals and software can meet the challenges of UHF and HF. How to support UHF and HF at the same time, there must be two separate RF Operation, however, there are obstacles in terms of antenna and data acquisition. It would be great if a unified standard could be formulated now. However, for now, neither UHF nor HF has achieved this. It would be great if the 13.56MHz tag can meet the ISO/IEC15693 and 18000 standards like a financial card.
